Eddy Finn 8 String Ukulele
What an amazing sonic instrument the EF-98T is! An 8 string tenor uke constructed of toneful mahogany with an unmistakable chime that sounds somewhere between a standard uke and an almost mandolin-like quality. It really must be heard to truly understand the sonic space this “Uke-Nique” instrument gives. The G- and C-strings are doubled with octaves, while the E- and A-strings are in unison paired with a wider string spacing makes this uke an absolute joy to play! Fred Newell meets Eddy Finn!
Nashville instrumental legend Fred Newell (who’s resume includes Waylon Jennings, George Strait, Ray Charles, Alabama, Reba McEntire, Hank Williams Jr, just to name a few) recently stopped by award winning recording studio SweetSong Nashville to try out the new Eddy Finn cigar box guitar on a session. Fred put the four string cigar box guitar through it’s paces while utilizing the lipstick pickup and single volume control. Plugging into a small 10” amp with a ModTone Dirty Duo Overdrive running in the front end, Fred was able to coax a wide range of heavenly tones his first time out. This video was recorded live with a iPhone so what you hear is what you get! Eddy Finn Ukulele Tour at the Cairns Ukuele Festival in Australia. This bus tour was part of the 2012 Cairns Ukulele Festival, taking 100 passengers (and their ukes, of course!) to various locations around Cairns: beaches, rainforest, sugar cane fields, and two pubs along the way for drinks and snacks.
